The latest polls show Bernie Sanders with a lead in the Democratic primary. The latest national poll from Economist/YouGov has Sanders with a four-point lead over former Vice President Joe Biden and the rest of the field.
Senator Sanders has emerged as a frontrunner in the race, narrowly winning the popular vote in the Iowa Caucuses and the New Hampshire Primary. However, former South Bend, IN Mayor Pete Buttigieg currently leads among pledged delegates.
The latest Las Vegas Review-Journal poll has Sen. Sanders leading the pack for the Nevada Caucuses, with 25%. He’s followed by Biden (18%), Warren (13%), Steyer (11%), Buttigieg (10%), and Klobuchar (10%).
An East Carolina University poll from Friday shows Biden out front in the South Carolina primary at 28%. Sanders trails him (20%) with Steyer in double digits (14%), followed by Buttigieg (8%), Warren (7%), and Klobuchar (7%).
Donald Trump’s approval rating is in flux. A Gallup poll released on February 4th showed President Donald Trump’s approval rating at 49%, but a more recent Economist/YouGov poll from February 12th said it was at 40% approval and 51% disapproval.
The same poll found that critical midwestern states approve of Trump’s job performance at a lower rate than the national average: 38% give Trump’s job performance a thumbs up, while a majority, 53% disapprove. Similarly, a Politico/Morning Consult poll (2/9) showed Trump’s approval among registered voters at 44%, and his disapproval at 54%. Among women, it’s a more troubling picture for Trump: only 39% approve of Trump’s job, while 58% disapprove.
