Good afternoon. Here are the latest news and updates that our team at Future Majority is tracking.
Trump and Biden’s favorability are in lockstep:
In the Monmouth poll out late last week, voters were asked their favorability of President Donald Trump and Vice President Joe Biden.
Trump
- Favorable: 42%, Unfavorable: 50%
Biden
- Favorable: 41%, Unfavorable: 42%
The biggest gap? The intensity of Trump’s unfavorability. He clocks in at 43% “very unfavorable” while the same measure is 25% for Biden. And only 7% of voters have no opinion of Trump, while 17% have no opinion of Biden.
A Fox News poll shows the presidential election in a dead heat:
A national poll from Fox News out late last week shows that Biden and Trump are knotted at 42% a piece for the 2020 presidential election.
Like the Monmouth poll, the Fox News survey finds that Biden and Trump’s favorability are about even, with Biden at 48% and Trump at 47%.
Voters feel slightly more enthusiastic about the 2020 elections:
23% of voters are more enthusiastic about November’s elections versus past elections, which is down 7 points from Monmouth’s March poll. However, 17% are less enthusiastic, while 59% are feeling about the same level of enthusiasm as in the past.
62% of voters are optimistic about the 2020 presidential election per the Monmouth poll, and 29% are pessimistic.
