Extend the Eviction Ban
Contact your lawmakers and tell them to extend the moratorium on evictions!
In March, Congress teamed passed the CARES Act, which temporarily put a moratorium on evictions. Now, several months later, the ban is scheduled to expire and landlords like Axiom Realty Partners LLC are waiting to evict delinquent renters -- saying that COVID-19 is not an excuse to not pay rent:
Axiom Realty is certainly not the only landlord pushing to evict renters as soon as possible when the ban on evictions expires. But when the reason Americans are falling short on rent is because of a pandemic that has cost tens of millions of jobs and tens of thousands of lives, the risk of homelessness should not be in question.
With the eviction ban set to expire on July 31st, we need your help. Contact your lawmakers and tell them to extend the moratorium on evictions. We must prevent countless Americans from experiencing homelessness and start to rebuild the economy so it works for everyone.
