A Warning for School Districts across the Nation
How do you feel about opening schools?
Schools around the nation are beginning to open up, but more visually -- Georgia's schools have also opened up. Georgia is within the top-5 stages of case surges and it's being seen in schools:
The number of quarantines since schools in Woodstock and the rest of Cherokee County opened last week is just that -- impossible to ignore. At least 478 students and teachers were asked to quarantine after possible exposure to Covid-19 in the first five days of classes. By early Tuesday, that number had swelled to 925 students and staff. Nearly one-third of the district's schools -- which teach 30,000 students from elementary to high -- have been impacted.
Now, the Woodstock schools are closed until the end of the month.
This is a warning to the rest of the school districts around the nation. Our schools are NOT ready to reopen in the middle of a pandemic that has claimed the lives of over 160,000 Americans and currently impacting millions more.
