Good morning. As the COVID-19 pandemic takes a toll on life in America, our team at Future Majority is tracking the latest updates:
The House Problem Solvers Caucus have introduced a bipartisan relief package:
Four months after the House passed the HEROES Act, the Problem Solvers Caucus, a group of 50 bipartisan lawmakers, have released a $1.5 trillion plan to provide economic relief to the sluggish economy and struggling families.
The proposal would revive the Paycheck Protection Program to aid small businesses and send checks of $1,200 to Americans that qualify. It would also put in place protections for workers.
We will be tracking the bills movement in the chamber and among House leadership.
An update from the key state of Wisconsin:
The Supreme Court in Wisconsin issued what was a surprise ruling to many when it said that the Green Party’s presidential candidate would not appear on the ballot in the state after the party was delayed in challenging an appeal. The decision comes as thousands of mail ballots will be sent to voters who have requested to vote absentee by mail as soon as this Thursday. It remains to be seen whether Kanye West will win his bid to be placed on the ballot, but the decision is not a good sign for him.
A new Florida poll shows a tightening race:
After leading President Trump in several polls, a new survey from Florida Atlantic University finds former Vice President Joe Biden tied with Trump:
- Biden: 50%
- Trump: 50%
With 29 electoral votes and as a purple state, Florida is always one to watch.
