We Can Stop the Spread of COVID with the HEROES Act.

Across the country, cases of COVID-19 continue to increase. How can we stop the spread going forward and get our country back on track?

The U.S. is experiencing another dangerous surge of COVID-19, as cases are on the rise in nearly every state across the country. 47 states are currently high risk for transmission zones. But the surge is much worse now in places where there were few restrictions or efforts to implement basic measures like mask mandates or business curfews.

Overall, case numbers are smaller in states where there were stronger efforts to contain the virus over the summer and the fall. Meanwhile, some states, like Iowa, North Dakota, and Utah have imposed mask mandates for the first time since the pandemic hit the U.S. as cases soared in their states after months of lax containment policies from the top.

If Congress had funded state and local health departments, it's likely that our country would have COVID-19 better under control. We need to bolster our health departments through the HEROES Act.

We can't wait any longer for relief. Americans need support now.
