Hospitalization Records, Overworked Staff, & Rising COVID Cases
Contact your Senators now and tell them to pass the HEROES Act.
As the U.S. experiences another surge in COVID-19 cases, our hospitals and frontline workers are at capacity. Action is needed now.
As of Sunday, the U.S. hit another pandemic record with the highest number of hospitalizations. Nearly 92,000 Americans across the country were hospitalized with COVID-19 -- the highest total since the start of the pandemic.
Hospitals are struggling to care for an increasing number of new patients, which is made more difficult by the infectiousness of COVID-19 and the isolation requirements to keep staff members and other patients safe. Hospitals in at least 25 states are critically short of nurses, doctors, and other staff. Many of these hospitals spent months building up stockpiles of medical equipment and protective gear, but without adequate staffing, supplies are of little use.
If we do not support our frontline workers and our hospitals, the U.S. will continue to get this virus under control as we await the distribution of a vaccine. We need to pass the HEROES Act to provide more resources for our hospitals and the millions of front line workers. Contact your senators now.
