The U.S. has hit another hospitalization record as the pressure on ICUs builds:

104,600 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 on Tuesday, a new record since the beginning of the pandemic. It has been a steady increase since the start of the month with over 100,000 people in the hospital on several consecutive days. 

Hope for the slowing down of the pandemic continues to rest in Americans following social distancing and mask-wearing guidelines and gearing up for the distribution of a vaccine. The White House said it aims to have a vaccine administered to vulnerable populations within 96 hours of approval from the FDA. The incoming Biden Administration said it plans to vaccine at least 100 million Americans within the first 100 days. 

The Supreme Court denied a Pennsylvania Republican request:

In a one sentence order, the U.S. Supreme Court denied a request from Pennsylvania Republicans to subvert the will of the voters in the state and overturn the election. The attempt in Pennsylvania was the latest in a string of legal battles that Trump and his allies have waged to try to deny the will of the voters who elected Joe Biden as the 46th President of the United States. 

The latest on COVID-19 relief:

On Tuesday, the White House offered up a $916 billion economic relief bill, which is largely similar to the $908 billion package from a bipartisan coalition of House and Senate lawmakers. The $916 billion bill would include $160 billion for state and local funding, direct payment funds, fresh funding for the Paycheck Protection Program for small businesses, dollars for airlines as well as vaccine and testing programs. There are no increases of unemployment benefits as there were in the CARES Act.
